Burning desire... for Clean Candles

704 was started as a household passion project to eliminate harsh chemicals and toxins in my home. I was constantly burning popular brands of candles and never thought about how the toxic components could impact my (& my dog’s) health. Many commercial candles contain dye, paraffin, metals, parabens, phthalates, or other carcinogenic materials.  

In January 2022, I began to create my own line of candles that  are paraben-free, phthalate-free, parrafin-free, and free of any other carcinogens on California’s Prop 65 list. I source clean fragrance oils from local, small-business suppliers and use 100% soy wax and organic hemp wick for 704 candles. 704 candles are housed in repurposed jars when available. 

The name "704" comes from the beloved 78704 neighborhood in South Austin- where 704 Candle Company began.

Candle Care

Keep wick centered and trimmed to ¼’’ at all times. Burn candle within sight at all times. Keep out of the reach of children and pets. Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire. Remove all packaging before burning. Place on temperature safe surface to avoid heat damage. Keep away from drafts. Keep wax pool free of debris. Do not burn candles for more than 4 hours at a time. Discontinue use when ¼’’ of wax remains. Do not use water or any other liquid to extinguish your candle.

The Classic 704 Recycled Jar Candle represents the simplicity of the original 704 vessel- made from jars that previously acted as jam, salsa, and peanut butter jars, these clear vessels are as classic as they are cool. Single double-twisted natural hemp wick made with beeswax. Various scents available.
